Perfect 'in-between blazer and jean jacket' layer

I bought this to go with neutral trousers and skirts on an autumn trip where it is much warmer than Canadian Autumn, and it's the perfect layer for that. I got Small (usually wear size 2/4, I'm 5'9") and it fits well over a light sweater, with a slightly modern, cropped but not-too-short look. It is more elevated than a jean jacket and almost looks like a casual suit when paired with my creme coloured trousers, yet it still dresses down if I want it to. The fabric is sturdy but soft so it has some drape. In the creme colour, I think the brown stitching adds nice detail but also helps it look more intentional with brown, tan, khaki, or black.
