Wow, the work it has taken to get here has definitely been more than usual.
I shared last week that we had to move half of our production earlier this Spring and the juggle of transferring patterns, additional sampling rounds, and simply finding our footing again added a lot more work behind the scenes than expected.
It makes this launch feel a little more monumental than most!
But now that we’re here, I’m excited to finally share the stories behind the pieces...
I think it’s safe to say that this silhouette may become a staple in our future Summer collections.
But this season, it’s all about the cotton daffodil eyelet.
I truly don’t think I could have found a happier fabric. It was a last-minute add-on during one of my deadstock sourcing trips and oh am I glad I brought it home.
It pairs so naturally with this silhouette and immediately felt right.
For those wondering about wearability, I personally find that wearing a skin-toned bra keeps the eyelet feeling quite modest.
I already know this piece is going to bring a lot of sunshine into my own outfits this Summer.
To every good pant there should be its equivalent in shorts... These turned out so well!
I finally had my own Thorne Trousers hemmed recently and now fully understand the love around them. There’s just something about the shape and ease.
For the shorts version, we brought the silhouette in slightly from the oversized feel of the trousers while keeping that same effortless energy.
They are made from the same brushed cotton twill we all love.
Here it’s pretty simple: I was craving a good linen set, but I also really wanted the pieces to feel like perfect basics with a little je ne sais quoi on their own. Pieces that work with everything else in your closet, but still shine independently.
The tank has adjustable straps (a first for us!), beautiful pleats at the hem, scoop front and back necklines, and soft gathers at both the front and back.
There are many thoughtful details I’m smitten by, but I think my favourite thing might actually be the length. We’ve never done this length of top before and I’m really excited about it.
The shorts are a refined version of our Cruz Shorts from previous seasons. They feel a little less bulky and the waistband is cleaner without the ties. They also have enough inseam to make dressing them up feel really easy.
Both sets are offered in 100% linen. Salt is made in an antique-wash linen while Earth and Midnight feel slightly more structured.
