This top is the stuff of summer dreams ✨ It literally pairs with everything - I've worn it with ripped denim jean shorts for a more casual summer vibe and will dress it up with a skirt (often with my HJ Prairie skirt) for an evening on a patio. It also works in the fall/winter with dress pants and a blazer. The fabric is devine, it has a more light but structured - almost the texture of raw silk - feel to it which I prefer in a linen while still being light and breathable. I sized up to a M in this one because I didn't want it sitting too close to my skin (usually I am a small or S/M in HJ tops). Love love love. It's a wardrobe staple.
Size XS. The most refined take on a corset/bustier blouse I’ve ever seen. I’m not one for either style since they’re typically uncomfortable and restrictive, but reverie is the complete opposite. The linen is breathable and light. Using pleats and ties to achieve a delicately contoured silhouette is genius. The pleats are my absolute favourite detail on this blouse, so I got it in salt as they’re most visible in this colour. I usually struggle with gaping on blouses because I have a really small chest and bust, but it’s extremely minimal with the reverie. I think the bit of elasticated section on the centre of the neckline where all the material gathers provides a bit of extra cling to the chest. It’s also insanely versatile. I pair it with the aura for a run-of-the-mill day. It dresses up gorgeously with the Brodie skirt. I saw this pairing by Alyssa on Harly Jae’s Stories and was obsessed ever since. I think it also makes such a romantic bridal event outfit for brides-to-be, like a wedding shower. Hats off to Laïla on the reverie because it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen or owned. This top is the perfect summer top. It's light, breezy and romantic. It pairs with so many things, from short to linen pants to skirt. I can't get enough of it. The size is true to size I'd say. I can't recommend this shirt enough.
I usually wear a size 2X or 22, and I ordered a 3X in this top. It’s fits beautifully, absolute perfection. I was concerned the 3X wouldn’t fit after referencing the size chart but when I received it has room to spare. The additional room allows me to pull the ties tightly, and have the addition fabric pucker in the back. The ribbing down the front is very flattering on my belly and the ties make my waist defined, which it usually isn’t. This top makes me feel like I have transported to a Italian villa and gives me an whole new confidence.
