It's that time of year again. Hundreds of emails are flowing through your inbox. Hot deals are everywhere. They are so good that you can already hear you friends or coworkers justifying purchasing something they did not need by saying: "It was just such a good deal you know?"
You already know that at harly jae we are all about slow and mindful consumption. We bring you fashion that is ethical, sustainable, and timeless, and we would never want you to purchase something that you don't need and won't end up wearing.
For this reason, Black Friday is a confusing time of year for us. We feel conflicted about taking part in Black Friday because it has become synonymous of overconsumption.
But because my personal experience with Black Friday is different than the craziness portrayed in the media, I felt the need to share my thoughts on the topic on Instagram today.
To summarize, I expressed that because I expect sales from my favourite brands at the end of November, I take time planning, researching, and thinking through what I will purchase on Black Friday. So, when the day comes around, I'm prepared to make intentional purchases.
I know that many of you reading this blog post are just like me - informed citizens who take pride in making conscious purchases. I did not want to "punish" anyone by not having a sale.
So yes, that was a long way of saying that we are having a Black Friday sale. From now until Monday November 24th you can get 20% off your purchase with code: INTENTIONALFRIDAY
I hope this is an opportunity for you to get a piece you have been wanting for a while.
Happy intentional shopping!
xo, Laïla
